The 97th Congress concluded behind closed doors that a Service member's retired/retainer pay was jointly earned marital property, effective 25 June 1981. The Pentagon formally adopted this congressionally mandated social engineering policy, in September 2001. If Uniformed Service Unit Commanders fail to formally advise all personnel in their charge, regarding this grave personal threat, of their own accord, we urge the 111th Congress to mandate it. We firmly believe personnel who are enlightened by this thoughtful training program will express their gratitude by continuing to voluntarily accept their nation's call to arms as a noble career. |
